Verify Birth Certificates


The Birth and Death Registration Department of People's Republic of Bangladesh has introduced a new facility to check the authenticity of the birth records issued. With this value added feature, we can verify the Birth Certificates, by entering the Birth Registration Number (B. R. N) and date of birth of the person whose birth certificate has to be verified. If matching Birth Record is found, his/her basic information will be displayed for verification.

Please note, this feature is available only available for the people who have applied for Birth Certificate online and also for those people whose information has been transferred to the online database.

    I can not verify my birth id no . It is always saying "Matching birth records not found".But I have my personal birth id no. of 17 digit starting with my birth year .

      Make sure you enter your brn correctly without any space in between and the dateof birth in dd/mm/yyyy format

      I have the same problem, but may find out the reason. When I entered my wife's 17 digit number & birth date it shows information correctly as Birth Certificate Issue year was 2011 but My Birth Certificate Issue year was 2009. May be they did not enter all data, I mean did not enter records those are issued on or before 2009. Wish it help. If anybody have idea that how can it be resolved who has issued their Birth Certificate in few years back (2009), please let us know. Thanks in advance

      That means, its in incorrect in your certificate also. Please contact your registrar with relevant proofs.

    My babies got birth certificates from Dhaka City Corporation on 18th September'2011 and got the hard copies with 17 digits registration number. But online verification system is saying "Matching Birth Record Not Found". Kindly help me.

    i have a birth certificate,i issued it at 2007,but in this certificate my birth year 1985 is not mentioned,2007 has wrote at the place of birth year.again my name n my mother name spelling are wrong....even there is no sign n seal of ward secretary......did i get correct one n what will i do?

      Since the data in your certificate is wrong, you have to contact the Registrar to update the same. A new certificate can be issued in your situation.

    i have just got my sis's online registered birth certificate. But when i enter the 17 digit number for verification, it shows "Matching birth records not found". But the issuing authority said me that this one is online registered.

      Seems like their is a discrepancy in with the records. You can raise a complaint in the registrar office. Until you clear the issue you will be in trouble.

      Before proceeding make sure you have entered correct BRN number (17 digit) in the verification page.

      Since you have taken birth certificate before the implementation of online system. The data migration is not yet complete. You can contact your registrar for more details. There is noting to worry about this. All old certificate information will be updated soon

    Hello my father passed away while on holiday in Bangladesh, my understanding is my father's family registered the death, how do I go about obtaining a copy as I live in the UK?

      Since the death is officially registered and the death certificate is already issued, the easiest thing is to get a copy of it by asking your father's family. Or you can go to the registrar of births and deaths where the death is registered and apply for getting a copy.

      Then you can go to the local registrar where death is registered with necessary documents stating the relation between you and your father along with the application for issuing a duplicate death certificate.

    Birth certificate provided with 17 digits, when I enter these 17 digits and date of birth, results show does not match the record , when I enter 16 digit, I mean problem in last six ,soupose Last digits are 025678; when I drop 0 and put rest of five 25678 , I mean the cereial comes in 16 digits, it show s record, ok can u please tell me how can I fix the problem
